Hunter Farrell

Hunter Farrell is a minister of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and worked as a Presbyterian mission co-worker in the Congo and Peru for fifteen years. He taught Greek and New Testament, worked in community development and youth work, and accompanied the Joining Hands Network of Peru in its work in economic development, environmental justice and human rights.

Since August 2007, he has served as Director of World Mission for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Hunter graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in Government and Latin American Studies, received the Master of Divinity in Cross-Cultural Studies at Fuller Theological Seminary, earned the Diplôme d’études approfondies in African Traditional Religions from the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Études in Paris, and the Ph.D. in cultural anthropology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. He is married to Ruth Brand Farrell and has three, nearly grown children. Most of what he knows about God’s mission, evangelism and justice was taught to him by Congolese and Peruvian partners.
