Rev. Ivan Vorster for the past eight years has been Sheriff’s Chaplain at Santa Barbara County Jail. He is also the pastor on a part time basis of Goleta Valley Church and has been such for five years. He finds both ministries rewarding and pleasing. He has been a pioneer pastor and missionary for the past forty years, having established churches and trained disciples.
Dr. Vorster received a BA in theology from Baptist Union College, Johannesburg, South Africa. He received also a Master of Biblical Counseling from Biblical Life College and Seminary and a Doctor of Philosophy in Behavioral Life Skills Counseling. Married to Lyn for fifty years, they have two sons and a daughter, all servants of the Lord, and seven grandchildren–in Singapore (3), Santa Barbara (3), and Long Island, New York (1). An American citizen, he and his wife have resided in Goleta for the past sixteen years.
