Ted Baehr has been a Santa Barbara real estate broker for 30 years. He accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and joined the First Presbyterian Church Santa Barbara in 2007. He has developed his gift by becoming a “Lay Minister” at the Santa Barbara County Jail, beginning August of 2010.
Now he is an enthusiastic participant in an experimental evangelism project, providing church worship services and topical bible studies to male inmates. They are using a FPCSB donated large screen monitor to provide targeted DVD presentations of biblically-based messages with the focus on Jesus Christ and the Good News of the Gospel.
The humble assignment: volunteering to assist the Holy Spirit in saving souls, transforming incarcerated character, reducing recidivism and protecting the community with the awesome power of the Word. Local studies show that the successful release of one local inmate positively affects a minimum 10 other people in the greater Santa Barbara area.
