Mission of Care in Ukraine: God’s Hidden Treasures
Come and see how an ordinary woman from a local church in the Santa Barbara Presbytery went to Ukraine and, through God’s leading, founded a ministry called “God’s Hidden Treasures” in 1997, a ministry which now serves thousands throughout Ukraine. Nita Hanson will share all the miracles of God’s provision for the Orphan Ministry, the Wheelchair Ministry, and the Medical Ministry. She will also share how reconciliation and healing are taking place in people’s lives through sharing the love of Christ in this war torn and divided nation. In her workshop Nita will be joined by individuals who traveled there short term with IMPACT.
Before going into fulltime ministry, Nita Hanson was a marketing manager at a small software development company. She was an active member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Thousand Oaks and as such was a Stephen’s minister and a member of the Prayer Team. Nita’s life took a radical turn after going on a short-term mission trip to the Philippines in 1995 with Santa Barbara Presbytery’s IMPACT, where her heart was broken for poor people throughout the world. In October, 1995, she went to Ukraine with the International School Project for three weeks and knew then that God was calling her to return fulltime, which she did in July of 1996. She founded God’s Hidden Treasures in 1997.
